Grangemouth,
June 6th, THE RESULTS
The
superstars of Wrestlezone returned to Grangemouth Town Hall
this past Saturday with a packed crowd anticipating an electrifying night of
super Scottish wrestling. They were not disappointed…
“Diehard”
Iain Morris Vs. Red Lightning
The debut
of Wrestlezone’s newest recruit, Red Lightning, did not go to plan as “Diehard”
scored a huge win in the opening match of Saturday’s card. Throughout the early
part of this encounter, Lightning did all he could to prevent Morris from
using his superior high-flying skills to full advantage. However, when the
opportunity to ascend to the top rope came his way, Morris grasped the chance
and hit his Flying Rocker Dropper that scored him the decisive pinfall. Not the
debut that Lightning had planned, but once again “Diehard” has scored an
important victory over an more-experienced opponent.
Crusher
Craib Vs. Cysto w/ “Handy” Andy Andrews
The
monstrous Crusher Craib looked to continue the undefeated streak he has amassed
since his impressive debut in Bo’ness, when his opponent was none-other than “The
Tangerine Dream” Cysto. Could Cysto provide more of a match for Craib this
time? Unfortunately not… Crusher once again dominated Cysto, and although the “Tangerine
Dream” was able to avoid the devastating Big Boot once, he could not the second
time and Crusher promptly picked up yet another victory to continue his
undefeated streak. No doubt Craib is on a tear through the Wrestlezone roster…
who’s next to try and stop him???
No
Limits Championship, No Disqualifications
J Hazard
(champion) Vs. Lionheart
The last
time we were in Grangemouth, these two clashed culminating in Hazard throwing
himself off a balcony to take out his hated foe. This time, the two met for
Hazard’s No Limits title, with the champion knowing a victory over Lionheart
would end their feud, and also take him past the one year mark as champion.
Could he do it?
In what
turned out to be a brawl taking both wrestlers throughout the Grangemouth Town
Hall, the match lived up to expectations. The No Disqualification rules saw
both men uses weapons to try and get the job done. In the end, we witnessed a
new champion crowned after Lionheart escaped the Hazard’s Way slam and promptly
nailed Hazard across his skull with a steel chair. To guarantee victory,
Lionheart ascended to the top rope and hit his Frogsplash which gained him a
three-count and the No Limits Championship. Ladies and gentlemen, your new
champion is Lionheart….
Wrestlezone
Tag Team Championships
Chaos
Theory (Champions Mikey Morris & Damien) Vs. “Tenacious” Johnny Lions &
Viper VanBeck
The
champion’s first defence of their newly acquired tag team gold saw them face
the new team of Johnny Lions and Wrestlezone newcomer Viper VanBeck. At first,
it appeared Lions and VanBeck worked well together and an upset could be in the
air. However, the champions rallied and used their quick-paced and high-flying
moves to out-wit their opponents, and in the end hit a Total Elimination on
Lions picked up the victory. Still the Wrestlezone tag team champions, the
Chaos Theory.
Next, we were
joined in the ring by Kongo Kev but before we could get down to business, he
was rudely interrupted by the annoying presence of obnoxious wrestling manager
Charles Boddington taking his first steps into the Wrestlezone. Suffice to say,
Boddington didn’t come alone, bringing “The Enforcer” Dave Malice to confront
Kongo.
Boddington
declared that he has come to the Wrestlezone to seek revenge after Kongo Kev
defeated his brother, “The Highlander”, at our last show in Kirkcaldy.
Boddington promised that he had back up and as Kongo was distracted, Malice
attacked the Urban Jungle VIP.
The beating
continued until Boddington called for further help from the back, and out came
another of his hired henchmen, former Wrestlezone star Claymore making his
return to the promotion. Claymore, who has joined forces with Boddington, began
to continue the beating on Kongo and we now had an impromptu match…
Kongo
Kev Vs. Claymore w/ Charles Boddingtons & “The Enforcer” Dave
Malice
Kongo
battled valiantly in one of the toughest fights of his life. He not only had to
content with Claymore, but the attention of Boddington and Malice at ringside!
However, Kev kept in the game and was eventually able to change the momentum
and it was clear Claymore was in trouble.
After
hitting the Kongo Bomb, it was all but over! However, Dave Malice had the
referee distracted in the corner. As Kongo looked to gain the attention of the
referee, Boddington sneaked into the ring and blasted Kongo in the head with
his briefcase that suspiciously looked like it was carrying more than just
papers! In any case, Claymore claimed the victory under these shady means. We’ll
have to wait until our next show in Fraserburgh to find out what Kongo’s
retaliation to this provocation will be!!!
Wrestlezone
Heavyweight Championship
Scotty
Swift (champion) Vs. Jason Rotanda
This
rematch from Aberdeen Anarchy III was just as turbulent as the first, with both
men providing a great test for one another. Rotanda, with all his power and
strength, managed to dominate the champion, much to the Grangemouth crowd’s
anger.
However,
Swift rallied and fought back against Rotanda. Both men had chances to win this
one, included Rotanda hitting a massive Piledriver that drove a chill through
the air. But Scotty just wouldn’t go down and eventually his chance to win
came, courtesy of the Swift Exit, followed by a devastating Death Valley
Driver. A three-count later and our champion had another successful defence of
his Heavyweight Championship under his belt.
So that was
our return to Grangemouth, where we witnessed successful defences of the
Wrestlezone Heavyweight and Tag Team titles, but also the crowning of a new No
Limits champion in Lionheart. Crusher Craib continued his winning streak, while
Charles Boddington and Red Lightening made their debuts. What will happen at
our next show in Fraserburgh on June 27th??? For all the news about
what’s going down in the Wrestlezone, keep an eye on this website!
Results - Aberdeen Anarchy 3
Wrestlezone hit the Granite City on Friday night as Aberdeen Anarchy 3 took place at the Summerhill Hotel! An action packed night was enjoyed by the capacity crowd who saw hometown heroes triumph and brand new champions crowned!"Tenacious" Jonny Lions vs "Diehard" Iain Morris
The opening bout saw the ever cocksure "Tenacious" Jonny Lions go up against "Diehard" Iain Morris in a back and forth match up, with both men taking the other to the limit. In the end, a Tiger driver from Morris saw him become the first man of the night to have his hand raised in victory, and a big scalp which must hold him in regard for title action sometime soon!
Chaz Phoenix vs Cysto
In action next we saw "The Most Hated Man in Wrestling" Chaz Phoenix compete with the ever bizarre Cysto who was accompanied to the ring by his friend, "Handy" Andy Andrews. Following a chaotic start involving Handy Andy trying to fix the ring due to “health and safety”, Cysto took an early charge, until a severe sidewalk slam from Phoenix turned the tables and from there it wasn't long before Chaz ended the challenge of the Orange one and picked up the win.
Scotty Swift vs Jason Rotanda
Our first title defence of the night came next as Wrestlezone Heavyweight Champion Scotty Swift put his title on the line against Jason Rotanda. The challenger had some choice words for both Swift and the Aberdeen crowd but this did not phase our champion who emerged victorious following a back and forth battling matchup, scoring the pinfall after reversing a piledriver attempt into the Swift Exit much to the delight of his home town crowd!
Sterling Oil vs Damien and Mikey Morris
Following the break, we had our second title match, the Wrestlezone Tag Team Champions- Sterling Oil defending against the team of Damien and Mikey Morris. The challengers got the better of the champions in the early going but with the CEO of Sterling Oil Richard R Russell and the enforcer Dave Malice in the corner of the Sterling Brothers, it wasn't long before the tide turned and they took control of the match. Damien and Morris continued to try and fight back but distraction and cheating kept Sterling Oil in control. The end came as William Sterling got himself tangled in the ropes, forcing his brother Alan to try and help free him. After an unsuccessful attempt, Alan then turned to focus back on the match only to be hit with a double superkick from Morris and Damien who then pinned him for the 3 count, giving us NEW Wrestlezone Tag Team Champions! Morris and Damien celebrated with the fans while Sterling Oil left to regroup and refocus. One thing is for sure, the tag team division here in Wrestlezone has been blown wide open!
Bryan Tucker vs Crusher Craib
Next up we saw Bryan Tucker in his debut match here in Wrestlezone, the young superstar looking to make a big impression on the local crowd. Opposing him was the Creator of Catastrophe, Crusher Craib. The giant Craib has made short work of opponents in past matches and set about keeping that trend going, punishing Tucker with giant headbutts and clubbing blows. Following 3 consecutive, devastating backbreakers, Craib finished Tucker off with a big boot to the face and a decisive pinfall. Craib has been so strong and relentless since debuting here in Wrestlezone, it is currently uncertain if anyone in the locker room will be able to cope with this force!
J Hazard vs Lionheart
Our final title match and main event of the evening involved No Limits Champion J Hazard defend against, Lionheart. This match was no count out and no DQ, which Lionheart used to his advantage in the early going, at one point sandwiching Hazard's arm between the ring post and a brutal chair shot! This one went back and forth, both men hitting and missing major high risk moves and inflicting a lot of punishment on each other. In the end it was Lionheart who cost himself the match, missing a chairshot which rebounded off the ropes and hit him square in the head instead! One giant elbow from the top later and J Hazard took the victory and left the Summerhill Hotel with the No Limits title. The queue for title shots at J is growing all the time, can he continue to emerge victorious or can someone topple the current longest reigning titleholder in Wrestlezone?
Results - Bo'Ness - Saturday 11th April 2009
Wrestlezone
debuted in Bo’ness this past Saturday - culminating in a successful defence of
the Wrestlezone Heavyweight Championship by champion Scotty Swift.
“The
Prodigy” Mikey Morris Vs. Lionheart
This battle
of experience vs. athleticism saw Morris cause the upset, as he scored a
pinfall victory over the well-travelled Lionheart. It took two Corkscrew
Moonsaults for Mikey to gain this tremendous victory, and could this be “The Prodigy’s” springboard to greater things? As for
Lionheart, it will be back to the drawing board after suffering this surprise
loss…
Kongo
Kev Vs. Damien Vs. Alan Sterling
Triple
Threat action was next as three of the top stars in Wrestlezone clashed - with
the winner being the first to score a pinfall or submission. In the early
stages, Damien and Alan struck up an
alliance to double-team Kongo Kev, but the former champion stayed in this one
long enough to see the partnership between Damien and Sterling explode! Kongo
was on the road to victory after hitting the Kongo Bomb on Sterling, however he
was caught from behind by a sneak roll-up from <b>Damien</b>who
gained the victory!
“Diehard”
Iain Morris Vs. “Tenacious” Johnny Lions
This grudge
match ignited the Wrestlezone as these two looked to score a victory over each
other. Both men pulled out all the stops to get the win, and in the end it was Iain Morris who picked up the win after escaping a top-rope
Lion Driver, and then drilling Lions with a running power bomb. A superb win
for Diehard!
Wrestlezone
No Limits Championship
J Hazard
Vs. Dave Malice w/Richard R. Russell
(If Hazard
wins, he gets two minutes alone with Richard Russell)
This one
had a lot on the line as Sterling Oil’s Enforcer, Dave Malice, looked to add
the No Limits Championship to Oil’s trophy collection. However, Hazard was
pumped with the chance to get his hands on loudmouth Richard R. Russell if he
could successfully defend the belt.
Of course,
we didn’t get to see a straight wrestling match as Russell tried to interfere
in this one; however he got involved once two often and ended up costing his
man the match, as Malice turned into a Hazard’s Way for the three-count.
Hazard
wasted no time in getting his hands on Mr. Russell - however Malice and
Sterling saved their Chief Financial Advisor and J Hazard
was left in the ring to celebrate another successful defence of the No Limits
Championship.
Crusher
Craib Vs. Cysto
Next up was
the debut of the monstrous Crusher Craib… and what a dominating way to enter
the Wrestlezone!
The Crusher
destroyed Cysto in this one, decapitating him with a Big Boot for the
victory!!! Crusher looked mightily-impressive in this one… who will be next to
challenge the Crusher???
Wrestlezone
Heavyweight Championship
Scotty
Swift Vs. Chaz Phoenix
The
Wrestlezone champ faced all the experience of former champion Chaz Phoenix as
he looked to wrestle the belt back!
However, Scotty put up a brave fight, despite Chaz living up to his billing as the ‘Baddest Man in Scottish Wrestling’. In the end, the champion retained with a pinfall in the middle of the ring. Who will be next to try and beat Scotty Swift for the belt? To find out, keep your eyes peeled here for all the news on what’s happening in the Wrestlezone.
